Fundraising is a very important
part of any organization. In the past the PGHA had a vendor
selling the Nevada breakopen tickets at Lansdowne Place with
proceeds coming back to the organization. This brings a
substantial amount of revenue to the organization and is used to
fund a variety of things. Examples are team sweaters, goalie
equipment, etc. Unfortunately he went out of business and we are
currently trying to set up the Nevada tickets again with another
vendor so we can take advantage of this revenue.
The PGHA hosts a large annual
women's tournament the first weekend of December. It is mandatory
that all the rep teams participate as well as work at this
event. Proceeds from this tournament are disbursed directly to
the teams that were involved. While houseleague teams are
welcome to participate it depends if there are enough teams for
a division.
Individual rep teams are
encouraged to host their own fundraising events. Individual team
fundraisers are not mandatory but do help to keep their teams
costs down. In the past there have been tag days, raffle draws,
cookie dough sales, chocolate sales, hockey pools, etc. Any
individual team fundraising ideas and or events are to be
presented to the PGHA executive for approval before
taking place.
Never at any time should a
fundraiser endanger the safety of the people involved whether
physically or emotionally. The fundraiser should also be handled
in a professional manner so as not to bring any bad publicity to
the PGHA organization.
